Wai Mauna SUP Tours offers guided paddleboard tours and self-guided rentals on Asheville's French Broad River. Start the day with a "dawn patrol" sunrise tour, as you watch the morning mists lift off the river and the sun break the eastern horizon, or paddle the river in early October for a waterfront view of the foliage. Or simply enjoy a sunny summer day on the third oldest river in the world. The 4-mile trips pass through Asheville's River Arts District, and 7 mile trips weave through Biltmore Estate property, offering views of America's largest home. You can also get paddleboards delivered directly to your lake home across all of Western North Carolina! All of the boards are wide and stable and custom tailored for beginners, and you'll not only learn how to paddleboard from professionally-trained instructors, but you'll also learn about Asheville's history as seen from the French Broad River. Portions of proceeds are donated to non-profits who aid in river conservation, and guided tours run five times per day. Open April-October.
