Asheville is "Climate City"

Asheville is an ideal destination for climate science-focused events and for planners seeking to incorporate climate research and expertise into their programs.

Asheville offers direct access to cutting-edge research and knowledge with its wealth of climate and data scientists, including Nobel Prize winners. The city is home to climate expertise and technical solutions providers who develop the next generation of science, data, and tools to increase our planet's resilience.

From keynote speakers to specialized workshops, planners can tap into the city's intellectual capital to create an agenda that highlights climate data, science, and solutions for forward-thinking and impactful meetings.

Asheville is situated in the midst of 1.6 million acres of maintained national forests, some of the oldest rivers in the world and is one of the most biodiverse regions of the world. Adding to this natural richness, the Federal Government maintains the oldest digital archive of climate data in the world at the National Centers for Environmental Information.
