• A wildflower wonderland, this North Carolina National Heritage Site is rich in Southern Appalachian plant species – more than 200 – and bird life. The Tryon Garden Club owns and maintains the wooded site, which includes a quarter-mile trail (rocky and uneven, not suitable for handicapped access) to a dramatic 90-foot waterfall. The deep gorge produces a special micro-climate. Wildflowers prolific in April-May.
