Scientists say Asheville’s fall foliage remains the nation's most vibrant and long-lasting, and we’re on track for another stunning display this year (read the full forecast here!). As September progresses, early fall colors appear at the highest elevations around Asheville, making it a great time for scenic drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

One of the best ways to enjoy it is by visiting local apple orchards, where you can pick fresh apples right off the tree.

Kids will love picking apples at the many u-pick farms in the region, which offer family-friendly activities like corn mazes, hay rides, and mountain music. Many orchards also have pumpkin patches, perfect for picking Jack-o'-lanterns of all shapes and sizes.

Our Fall Color Hunters take to the field on September 30, 2024. Scroll through the beautiful photos below from 2023 for a taste of what to expesct..
