Liberation / Freedom

The Mural(s):

217 Coxe Avenue features two murals by artist Zander Stefani, “Liberation” and “Freedom." These murals are on the South facing building facade, adjacent to 225 Coxe Avenue. “Freedom," on the right, features a lone figure walking through an unfamiliar landscape to suddenly cross paths with a larger than life multi-colored dog. This imagery represents Zander’s idea of the magic and mystery found in exploring new places.  In “Liberation," to the left, Zander departs from his often fluid and free-flowing aesthetic, to experiment with bold lines and geometric forms while embracing the use of all colors in a single composition.

Zander Stefani’s art is like taking a trip through a 1960s psychedelic daydream. Graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2017, Zander views his work as a magical journey of the subconscious, always reflecting the truth of his inner psyche. With a great sense of adventure, fantasy and surrealism he hopes to shift people’s reality, transporting them from the mundane into the wild possibilities of the imagination. Zander has contributed several works of art to the South Slope landscape.
